SEND Support and Dyslexia Screening

I offer support to parents and carers with ensuring their child gets the best support.
I can recommend where to get a SEND diagnosis best suited to what I believe your child may need.
Ensuring your child can get the best start, I review and discuss the different options that are available to you. Being a parent advocate I can attend school meetings or any reviews with you to enable me to offer you the correct support and guidance.
EHCP (Education Health Care Plan) advice and support. Completing the EHCP application can be daunting, however I offer guidance and support throughout the process from initial application completion and beyond.
Dyslexia Screening
Talamo have carefully chosen and designed tests to give a thorough understanding of key cognitive and academic skills. Some of them are composite tests, meaning they measure several related abilities, while others focus on specific skill areas. Together, they assess important aspects of learning and thinking, helping to build a clear picture of a student’s strengths as well as areas that may need further support that I am then able to provide strategies and advice on.
The screener includes tests on:
- Visual Ability
- Verbal Ability
- Working Memory
- Processing Speed
- Phonological Awareness
- Reading comprehension
- Reading Speed
- Spelling
A dyslexia screening test (or screener) is a detailed check that looks at the likelihood of dyslexia. It does not provide a formal diagnosis, however this screener helps identify whether a learner may be at risk of dyslexia and flags up potential concerns and how he can be addressed and supported both in the classroom and at home and is fuller back by the British Dyslexia Association.
Additionally, by the screener being completed and administered by myself, qualified teacher and former SEN teacher, I am able to guide you as a parent and support your child’s school meet and address needs.
The charge of the screening, which takes approximately 1 hour, a detailed report and my support is £129.
