Self care is vital to a positive well being both mentally and physically. How often do we burn the candle at both ends? We do this sometimes with little regard for the draining impact this has on our bodies.

Here are some quick tips to get you on the road to self care.
Having a good nights sleep is one of the most important parts of staying well. It’s essential to our mental and physical well being. Here are three quick steps to help with that
✨ Turn off all electronic devices at least 45 minutes before going to sleep, and avoid social media.
✨ Give yourself a window of between 15 and 30 minutes to wind down from your day. This may be to journal, light stretching, calming music. Whatever helps your mind unwind.
✨ Don’t go to bed too late. We sometimes don’t realise that we past our biological sleep time by staying up late and then, in turn find it harder to fall asleep. It’s important to re set your clock and ensure you give yourself ample rest time.
Fuel your body with the right stuff. This doesn’t mean we aren’t allowed ‘treats’ however we should actually start to deem treats as the healthy goodness we want to put into our bodies. Some tips for helping with this:
✨Preparation is key. Plan your meals, otherwise you’ll be caught hungry and binge on the wrong foods that in turn will leave you sluggish and tired.....and so the pattern continues.
✨ Always carry a healthy snack for the moments where your energy is starting to dip.
✨ Drink water. Yes, it’s said all the time. However how many of us actually drink around 2 litres of water a day? It’s so vitally important for our well being, circulation, concentration, skin....the list is endless.
Get your body moving. No, this doesn’t mean long, arduous hours in the gym or pounding the streets, but it does mean exercising daily. Here are some quick ideas:
✨ A short walk daily- you could incorporate this into your commute or add it in at the end of the day where you walk and become very much present and mindful of what is around you.
✨ Some gentle stretches, yoga or pilates. Anything that stretches out your muscles and wakes them up.
✨ If you’re able to swim, getting into water is so freeing.
