Your Time is NOW

Could now be the time to re-evaluate where your life is, where you want it to be and how you can get there? If anything positive can come out of this situation we are currently finding ourselves in, is that we have been given time. Time to stop, time to reflect, time to change. We may never get this sort of time again. Let’s use it. It is so easy for us all to become stuck in a rut. We may be in jobs we lack lustre for, routines that don’t serve us anymore and relationships that are not positive for our-wellbeing.
As a coach, a question that I often focus on within our first few sessions is, where would you like to see yourself in the future, if money wasn’t a consideration and you had all the time in the world. The reason I ask this is because we often think we are unable to change what we do, start again or follow dreams. As we grow, we feel trapped by bills and life. However, it is NEVER too late to change where you are or what you are doing, but it does take courage, determination and some clear goal setting. Whilst in lockdown, you can use this time to evaluate where you are and how you want to move forward. You may also come to the conclusion that you are very happy where you are, however because we are so often trapped in the hamster wheel we don’t take stock and realise we appreciate what we have.
At the end of this blog, there will be some questions to ask yourself as you sit and reflect. These will help you focus on where you are and how to help you live your best life. Forming a clear picture of where you would like yourself to be can be empowering. Writing this dream/vision on paper gives it reality and that will give you strength and motivation to achieve this. It does not mean that what you write or aspire to, will happen over night, that would be an unrealistic outlook and would end with you feeling like you have not achieved what you set out. With my clients, we use the tried and tested GROW model, which you can put into practise, to help you plan our your future.
This is the GROW model in brief, however we can work together to go through this model and move your life forward: findyourpath121@outlook.com

Goals - This is a time for you to work out what your goals and dreams are. Think seriously about what you want from your life and write them as goals – make them real. Remember these do not have to be big, luxuries, they can be small, immediate things.
Reality – Take stock of your current situation. Be completely honest with yourself. What challenges and barriers do you have, but also what qualities and things do you already have that can help you and are there any obstacles blocking you? (These can be both internal and external) sometimes we actually create our own obstacles, but until we stop and really reflect we may not be aware of this.
Options – What options do you have. In our sessions we would work through every single option available we wouldn’t disregard one because of ANTHING, so you mustn’t either. Explore every option.
Will – Putting your plan in to practise. Create a timeframe, a plan and a step by step guide of what you will do, by when and how you will measure your success. Make your goals attainable, believe.
Once lockdown is over, you will be surprised how quickly you end up back in full speed, therefore the time to set these goals, make these plans and invigorate yourself, is NOW. As adults we, unfortunately, have been conditioned to believe that we have limits, no matter how many memes we read about following dreams. We, often subconsciously, live in a time where we think our dreams may be unrealistic and fruitless. We get trapped in a thought process of possibility vs probability.
Questions to get you thinking about YOUR future.
1) What would you be most disappointed you didn’t do?
2) If you were completely honest with yourself, what do you REALLY want out of this life? Remember we only get ONE.
3) What are your dreams and desires?
4) What feelings have you got about your current life?
5) How do you WANT to feel about life?
Create a vision for your life. Set goals. Live your best life.
